Five minutes walk takes one to the hilltop church of San Miniato al Monte and the Piazzale with its magnificent view overlooking the river Arno and the city of Florence. The municipal buses, giving handy and reliable service, stop 500 metres from the house. The closest shopping is in the Piazza Ferrucci area, at the bottom of the hill on the south side of the river Arno. A private tree-lined drive with an automatic gate gives access to the three, linked homes on the property.
It has been very recently completely renovated and is laid out on two levels with an additional two levels in a tower.
The ground floor consists of: an entrance/living room, dining room (table for 12), an eat-in kitchen (table for 6), laundry room, single bedroom with ensuite bathroom (tub) and a powder room.
The first floor consists of: a study/TV/sitting room and 3 bedrooms (with double beds that may be divided into two twins) each with ensuite bathroom (all showers) .
The first level of the tower consists of: a little bedroom with two twin beds and an ensuite bathroom (shower). The top tower level is a study with 2 single daybeds and wonderful views over the city and surrounding Tuscan countryside.
This private home has been tastefully furnished with a mixture of modern and antique pieces. The kitchen is well-equipped with a professional stove, oven, fridge and dishwasher. The laundry area has a washing machine and dryer. The apartment is fully air-conditioned and has gas heating which may be regulated by the client. There is satellite television and an ADSL internet connection. Linen and kitchenware are supplied.
“La Torretta” has a private patio/garden area with table and chairs for “al fresco” dining, plus access to the estate garden and olive grove that is available for all three homes on the property. There are covered parking spaces.
A narrow lane runs behind the home, where a second entrance provides pedestrian access (and a nice short cut toward the new International school campus five minutes walk down the avenue). |
