Ugolino is the closest and the oldest golf course of Florence. It is located approximately 13 kms. from Florence (Porta Romana) at the beginning of the Chianti wine region.
The surrounding countryside is characteristically Tuscan and the property is situated at only 4 km from the town of Grassina, a main shopping centre for the area. There is a public bus service with a bus stop on the main road right outside the gate of this property, very convenient for visiting Florence, but a car is also necessary. The Ugolino golf club, offering golf (18 holes), tennis and swimming, is approximately 1 km away.
A well-tended lawn and garden surrounds the house, in addition to a few acres with roses and olive trees. There is an electric gate at the main road, and a lane (approx. 200 yards) that leads to the house, with parking space for 2/3 cars. Twelve steps lead up to the front door.
This house measures approximately 150 square meters and consists of: an entrance hall, living room (with working fireplace), an unusual round dining room (table for 6), a kitchen, (with table for 4, dishwasher), a double bedroom (or two twins) with ensuite bathroom (tub/shower), a bedroom (two twins or one double) and a bathroom (tub/shower), and a third bedroom with ensuite bathroom next to the kitchen. A washing machine and spare bathroom are located in a utility area under the house.
Doors from the living and dining rooms lead to a shady veranda (with table and chairs) and the back yard, which overlooks the golf course. All the rooms have windows overlooking the surrounding countryside.
The two bedrooms and living room are air-conditioned. The home is attractively furnished with some hardwood floors, floral wallpaper, and a mixture of modern and antique furniture. It is equipped with telephone, T.V. with satellite, washing machine and dishwasher. Linen and kitchenware are supplied. There are window screens. Garden maintenance is provided. |
